In October 2009, the International Association of Physical Culture and Sport Universities held a conference. The founders of the Association were the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sport, Youth and Tourism, National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine, the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism, Kirgiz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sport and the Uzbek State Institute of Physical Culture.
